Certification to Advise on ACA, Medicare, and Social Security – June 30, 2014

Well unfortunately there are some bumps in trying to get our volunteers certified to advise on the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, and Social Security.  In Washington D.C., the certification process is done through Health Benefits Exchange (HBX).  They have done certification in waves and we missed the latest one which wrapped up on June 16, 2014.  If we’re to apply in the future there are some things we’ll need to consider.  First, our organization will need to confirm to HBX that we have general liability insurance.  Second, individual volunteers who want to be certified will have to submit to a background check and complete three online training modules
